The 2nd Confederation of African Athletics Cross Country Championships takes place on Sunday 18 March 2012 at WPCC / Keurboom Park. The standard of the 2011 event was rated as world class by the African Confederation, hence South Africa was appointed once again as the host nation.

The Championships will involve national teams from all over the continent of Africa. The races to be contested will be the senior men’s and women’s races, over 12km and 8km respectively; and the junior men’s and women’s races, over 8km and 6km, respectively. There are 6 athletes to a team, making a maximum total participation per country of 24.
